The story

There isn't many things that quite tell the story of summer time memories than building a lemonade stand and offering yummy, sweet and chilled lemonade to neighbors and passerby's. The nostalgia brings warm thoughts of a childhood born of good times.

With that in mind why not recreate those memories with a lemonade stand that has been built with ultra special, reclaimed and repurposed 100+ year old material from a barn set in the idyllic setting of the foothills of the Ouachita mountains in Arkansas.

Complementing The Lemonade Stand, the props have been made with dark Black Walnut, that was salvaged from the same barn. This Black Walnut was rough cut in the early 1900's, which makes the tree's age mid 1800's. It has recently been brought back to life with planning, crafting and topped off with beautiful finishing. The stunning images of your littles, can also be paired with the same material that you can purchase and adorn your home with.

Bring your adorable kiddos, ages 3 - 9, on Sunday, July 10th and let's create a magical experience that you will treasure for ever.

THE HISTORY

I grew up on a farm in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas. My small farm has been in our family for generations and is a special place for both myself and son Cole.

Over the course of about 100 years the actual home, barn and stables have been relocated on the property a couple of times. The last time the barn was moved was about 70 years ago. Around that time my grandfather had purchased a large quantity of rough cut Dark Walnut, Cedar and White Oak. ...along with a few other types of wood. Back then when trees were milled it was common for them to be "rough cut" and milled in completely different widths, lengths and thickness. Upon purchasing the lumber for a few different future projects, my grandfather stacked and stored it in the barn, but because of age and health, never got to those projects. Over the years and time other things got moved around, rearranged, stored and unfortunately this special wood was to a degree lost to time.

I have known that this treasure was buried in a bay in the barn, but knew it would be a massive undertaking to locate and salvage it. About 4 years ago I started the process of cleaning out and reorganizing 70 years of stored items. Over these past few years little by little, bay by bay, room by room, I made my way to this special lumber and what I found was nothing short of amazing.

To my surprise there was much more than I anticipated. All of the lumber was rough cut, different sizes and to be honest, doesn't look like anything important. But I knew there to be gems beneath the ugly surfaces of every single piece.

When planned and finished, dark black walnut in particular is a beautiful and gorgeous wood. So much so, that when I decided to offer these mini sessions I knew that I had to create something special with the material.

If you want something truly beautiful to display your images on in your home, this artwork is worth the investment.

THE STAND

In addition to the lumber that I salvaged to be used as custom artwork, was also a large quantity of old barn material that in and off it self is beautiful and has history of it's own.

The Lemonade Stand has been custom built with different species of wood from trees well over 150 years old. I have built the stand to a size that will accommodate both young children and older, elementary aged kiddos. With loving attention to detail I have used antiques such as livestock yokes, tools from time past, and even an old celestory window. And to top it off a 1970s GMC farm truck hubcap.

I have also used some of the Dark Walnut to create special and unique props that really tie it all together.

Between all the detail to the stand itself, the products that I am offering and your sweet kiddos, this is an opportunity that you will not want to miss out on!
